Changing Lives with Eye-Tracking Technology: RightEye Reveals TriCounty Vision is Winner of the 2021 Impact Award

BETHESDA, Md., June 9, 2021 — RightEye LLC, today revealed the winner of its 2021 RightEye Impact Award(™), Dr. Meghan Corkery of TriCounty Vision  in Willimantic, CT. Dr. Corkery was honored for her dedication to improving her patients’ lives, at a virtual awards ceremony on Wednesday June 9th. Dr. Corkery received the award for her work helping a 17-year-old boy who presented with a myriad of vision concerns including difficulties with fluency and comprehension, and a history of amblyopia, exotropia, autism, and generalized learning delays that had impacted his academic performance and ability to function independently. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and sustained three facial fractures from being struck by a car that led to significant headaches, double vision, and visual fatigue.

Following a RightEye assessment, Dr. Corkery diagnosed the patient with intermittent exotropia, strabismus amblyopia, post-concussion syndrome, accommodative insufficiency, saccadic dysfunction, oculomotor dysfunction, convergence insufficiency, and fusion with defective stereopsis. After the completion of the RightEye Dynamic Vision Trainer at-home exercise program, a RightEye Reading Skills Assessment, RightEye games, monocular motility exercises, binocular anti suppression work, and biofeedback, the patient graduated vision therapy to focus on other forms of therapy to continue to gain independence in daily living.

The RightEye Impact Award was created to recognize, honor, and celebrate the many unsung accomplishments of healthcare providers worldwide who are transforming peoples’ lives through measuring and treating eye movement dysfunction to improve vision health. The revolutionary RightEye eye-tracking technology is the only solution that measures and improves dynamic vision. RightEye’s non-invasive eye-tracking technology tests, records, analyzes, and reports minute eye movement patterns at a level of detail not feasible through observation-only exams.

The finalists were judged based on the magnitude of clinical progress and the patients’ improved quality of life. Each story is impactful, compelling, and unique, but all providers used RightEye technology in one or more of the following ways to make an impact: identify eye movement issues, validate patient symptoms, and need for treatment, communicate findings visually via reports, motivate and change the mindset of patients and demonstrate treatment progress. Award applicants used a variety of RightEye tests including Dynamic Vision Assessment, Reading Skills Assessment, and RightEye Dynamic Vision Trainer for improving oculomotor dysfunction. The 2021 RightEye Impact Award Honorable Mentions (in alphabetical order) were:

Jacob Lewallen, Fully Known Chiropractic
Marc Case, Case, Chiropractic Neurology Center
Tatiana Habanova, The Pilates Wellness Center

“Congratulations to Dr. Corkery for her dedication to helping her patients reach their full potential. We are proud of Dr. Corkery, and all the Impact Award submissions we received this year. It is gratifying knowing these providers are making an enormous impact in their communities using RightEye,” said RightEye Chief Revenue Office David Taylor.
